Domestic violence advocates play a crucial role in helping child welfare-involved clients recognize their strengths, communicate those strengths and efforts to protect their children with child welfare staff, and support the creation of case plans that are perpetrator pattern-based and domestic violence-informed.
The Safe & Together Model — which is helping to transform child welfare systems — can also help domestic violence advocates strengthen their work with survivors who are system-involved by giving insight into child welfare's approach to domestic violence, providing tools to use in collaborative efforts, and highlighting research findings on survivor's protective efforts. In this unique package, we combine two of our most popular E-Courses with three 90-minute, instructor-led practice sessions to enhance the skills of advocates and women sector workers in advocating for their clients’ parenting strengths and pivoting the system’s attention back to the perpetrator as a parent.
